Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website operated by A M Express & Logistics ("we", "us", "our") and the booking, carriage, and delivery of shipments tendered to us. By booking a shipment, generating an AWB, tracking a parcel, or otherwise using our services, you accept these Terms in full.
If you are booking on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
- AWB means the Air Way Bill — the unique reference issued at the time of booking that identifies the shipment in our network.
- Consignor means the sender of the shipment as recorded on the AWB.
- Consignee means the recipient of the shipment as recorded on the AWB.
- Shipment means the goods tendered to us under a single AWB.
We accept shipments at our sole discretion. Acceptance of a shipment does not waive our right to refuse onward carriage if we later discover the contents are restricted, mis-declared, hazardous, or otherwise unsuitable for our network. We may require the consignor to provide identification, GST / PAN details, or supporting invoices for any shipment at any stage.
The following are not accepted for carriage on our standard network:
- Hazardous materials (flammables, corrosives, compressed gases, radioactive substances, lithium batteries above permitted thresholds).
- Live animals, perishables without prior arrangement, human remains.
- Currency, bullion, precious metals, jewellery, negotiable instruments.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, narcotics, and items prohibited by Indian law or by destination-country regulation.
- Counterfeit goods or goods that infringe a third party's intellectual property.
Tendering a prohibited item is at the consignor's sole risk. We may refuse, hold, or hand the shipment to law-enforcement authorities and recover any costs or fines from the consignor.
The consignor is responsible for packaging shipments so they withstand the normal rigours of transit, including stacking, sorting, and conveyor handling. Fragile, sensitive, or temperature-controlled goods must be flagged at booking and packaged accordingly. The AWB label must remain legible and securely affixed until delivery.
Freight is calculated on the higher of actual weight or volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is computed as (Length × Width × Height) ÷ divisor, where the divisor is 5000 for courier shipments and 6000 for cargo shipments. We reserve the right to re-weigh, re-measure, and re-rate any shipment after acceptance. Where the revised chargeable weight exceeds the booked weight by more than 10%, the difference becomes payable.
Quoted rates exclude applicable taxes (GST), fuel surcharge, COD handling, demurrage, customs duty, and any third-party charge raised by destination-country authorities.
Pickup and delivery transit times are indicative, not guaranteed. We make commercially reasonable efforts to deliver within the published service-level window, but timing may be affected by weather, traffic, customs clearance, force majeure, and consignee availability.
Our driver attempts delivery to the consignee's address as recorded on the AWB. After three unsuccessful attempts the shipment is held at the destination branch for pickup, or — at the consignor's instruction — returned to origin (RTO) at the consignor's cost.
Subject to clause 3 and absent declared-value insurance, our liability for loss, damage, or delay is limited to the lower of (a) actual invoice value of the goods as evidenced by tax-paid invoice, or (b) ₹100 per kilogram of chargeable weight, or (c) ₹5,000 per consignment — whichever is least. We do not accept liability for consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of goodwill under any circumstance.
Claims must be raised in writing within 7 days of delivery (or within 30 days of the booking date if the shipment is not delivered), accompanied by the AWB, original tax invoice, and photographs of the damaged goods and packaging. Claims raised outside this window are not entertained.
For higher-value shipments, declared-value insurance can be added at the time of booking on payment of the prescribed premium. This is the only mechanism by which the liability cap above can be increased.
We are not liable for delay or non-performance caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, weather disruption, strikes, lockouts, civil unrest, terrorism, pandemic, war, government action, embargo, customs hold, network outage, or failure of third-party carriers.
Credit-account customers must clear invoices within the agreed credit period. Cash, ToPay, and prepaid bookings must be settled before pickup or at the time of delivery as applicable. Overdue invoices attract interest at 18% per annum or the maximum permissible rate, whichever is lower. We may suspend services to a customer with overdue invoices without notice.
For cross-border shipments the consignor must provide accurate commercial invoices, HS codes, and any export/import permits required. Duties, taxes, and customs clearance charges levied by destination-country authorities are payable by the consignee unless agreed otherwise. If the consignee refuses to pay, the consignor remains liable.
Bookings cancelled before pickup are refunded in full to the original payment method within 5–7 business days. Once a shipment has moved into our network only the unused portion of the freight (if any) is refundable, less handling and return-to-origin charges where applicable.
