Privacy Policy
A M Express & Logistics ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website, book a shipment, track a parcel, or contact our team — and how we use, share, retain, and protect it.
This policy is published in compliance with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").
We collect personal information in the following situations:
- When you book a shipment — consignor and consignee name, mobile number, email, address (pickup and delivery), pincode, city, state, GST number and PAN where applicable, parcel description, pieces and weight, declared invoice value, and payment information.
- When you track an AWB — your AWB number is processed to look up the shipment. We log the request along with the timestamp and your IP address for fraud prevention and rate-limiting.
- When you contact us — name, email, phone, subject, and the content of your enquiry. The contact form also logs your IP address along with the submission to deter automated abuse.
- Automatically — your browser sends standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, referrer, timestamp). We may use cookies or similar technologies — see "Cookies" below.
We use personal information only for purposes connected to the service we provide:
- To accept your booking, generate an AWB, hand the parcel to our network, and deliver it to the consignee.
- To send shipment status notifications (SMS / email / call), confirmations, and delivery proof.
- To respond to support enquiries, complaints, and claims.
- To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements (invoice records, GST returns, audit trails, KYC where applicable).
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and to enforce our Terms & Conditions.
- To improve the website, our routing efficiency, and our pricing — using aggregated, anonymised data where possible.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Delivery partners — last-mile carriers, line-haul partners, and customs agents who genuinely need the consignor/consignee details to move the parcel.
- Service providers — payment processors, SMS / email notification platforms, cloud hosting providers, and analytics tools. These vendors are bound to use the data only for the purpose we instruct.
- Regulators and law enforcement — where disclosure is required under valid legal process (court order, statutory notice, subpoena) or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our staff and the public.
- Successors — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your data.
We use cookies and local storage to keep the website working — for example, to remember your AWB search, to manage your session if you sign in to the customer portal, and to measure traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the website (notably tracking and account login) may not work correctly without them.
We retain shipment records (AWB details, consignor / consignee information, proof of delivery, invoices, GST documents) for the period required by Indian tax and commercial law — typically up to eight years from the end of the relevant financial year. Contact-form submissions are retained for up to two years from the date of last interaction. Server access logs are retained for ninety days unless required for a longer period to investigate a security incident.
We follow reasonable security practices — TLS encryption in transit, restricted access to production systems, role-based authentication for staff, soft-delete plus audit trails on every record, and segregated tenant data in our platform. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by the DPDP Act.
Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to erase information where we are no longer required to keep it.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential uses (for example, marketing communications). Withdrawal does not affect prior processing or our ability to complete shipments already in transit.
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request" and your AWB / booking reference where applicable.
Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
For international shipments we transfer the minimum necessary consignor / consignee information to the partner carrier and to customs authorities in the destination country. We do not transfer your data outside India for any other purpose without either your consent or a lawful basis under the DPDP Act.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. When we make material changes we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email or via a notice on this page.
